Rough Night of Scoring on Tough WTBA Los Angeles Pattern Segment
Posted by Bardonbowlingcenters in General on January 5th, 2012
The headline above is an understatement.
In general terms as the lane pattern gets closer to the gutter you can very evidently see the courage and confidence in any bowler. Courage to venture outside of a comfort zone to get to the area the lane is telling us it wants to be played. Confidence to know you just have to accept what it’s telling you and then solve the puzzle to hit the pocket, then to strike.
To know how tough, click here to watch PBA Star Chris Barnes’ explanation of the pattern.
Boy did it live up to those prophetic words.
In the first night of the Los Angeles segment, only 5 of 21 players were over average for the week with a newcomer taking top honors for the week. Justin Mickelson fresh off a right arm break, and the beginning of a new two-handed release, lead with a +73 Pins Over Average score. Following Justin were brother Jacob +48, Carey Slater +43, Steve Richter +13 and Jacob DelValle +11
