Debut of the Reformatted Elite Pro Shop Challenge LEague
Posted by Bardonbowlingcenters in General on October 13th, 2009
Wednesday night was the debut of the reformatted ELITE Pro Shop Challenge League. Click here to view the week #1 standings.
This league has been running at Odyssey Fun Center in Sheboygan Falls, WI for 4 years and went through a format change to accommodate the busy schedules of bowlers.
1) It was changed from a 12 week league to a single month long segment, allowing people to get in and out of the league as personal and business commitments required a life changes.
2) The patterns that we bowl on stay constant for the entire month so we have a chance to learn them, make adjustments and be successful. In the past we had 4 games to try and do our best and luck was a much bigger factor.
3) Youth bowlers are encouraged to participate. With the change to the SMART program, all prize money won will go to their SMART account. In addition, they get more practice on the patterns that they will see in the Sheboygan Youth Bowling Association tournaments where they compete for over $30,000 in scholarship money each year. Click here to get to the Sheboygan Youth Bowling Association web site.
To date we have 19 people participating in the blind-doubles league and the energy was fantastic last night.
Tim Felsinger led the way with a nice 928 set, book-ended by a 278 and 258 game, taking the early lead in the high game category on the Kegel Beaten Path Pattern. Second was Steve Richter at 874 and Mike Walters at 848. Tim Felsinger took the early lead in the points race and is trying to earn a berth into the Season-ending Grand Championship. Youth bowler Ben Limberg is a close second.
